The original event, historically known as the Townie Street Party, was permanently restructured in 2024 into this collaborative, city-wide kickoff bash. [1, 2]

The party spans multiple blocks across downtown Ann Arbor, allowing local businesses and restaurant patios to spill right out into the streets: [1, 2]

🎨 Key Activities & Highlights
- Dart for Art: The annual, all-inclusive 1-mile run/walk kicks off downtown at 6:00 PM. [1, 2]
- Chalk Art: Renowned local artist David Zinn will create live chalk drawings at 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM, with open chalk available for everyone to join in. [1, 2]
- Live Entertainment: Street performances include a 25-foot Chinese dragon dance at 5:30 PM, live classic rock from Ain’t Dead Yet, DJ Batz, and a silent disco dance party. [1, 2]
- Family & Interactive Zones: Enjoy street pickleball, tile painting with Motawi Tileworks, and hands-on animal encounters hosted by the Ann Arbor Hands-On Museum. [1]
