Yesterday morning, while still in bed and waking up, I heard a news report that New York Governor Hochul had endorsed Mamdani for Mayor of New York City. That primed my memory of a Beatles song, from which I ended up taking a 15 second sample to use as the background for a “reel.” A short sample like that does not violate copyright law and is acceptable as background to upload into a YouTube video Later in the day I asked ChatGPT to create an image with both of their faces, but I was told that their policies prohibit that. So, I used Manus.ai and that worked fine. I produced video in Canva, by uploading the image and a 15 second MP3 of the Beatles song, which I recorded using Audacity. I began using Audacity around 2006 when we were showing Aimee Mann how to create a podcast for her music.
